Decolourisation of Metal-azo Dyes in Wastewaters by Sodium Peroxodisulphate: A Template for Experimental Investigations

چکیده

Background: It has long been recognized that the presence of azo metal complex dyes and their non-complexed counterparts in wastewaters, which is due to manufacturing use textile industries, renders natural waterways intensely coloured, therefore aesthetically unacceptable. Azo dye moieties are also known be precursors human carcinogenicity. Objective: This work aimed at decolourisation metal-azo present wastewaters so pollution bodies water can prevented. Decolourisation indicative destruction metal-ligand complex, allowing retrieval transition ions, contaminants. Fracturing bond itself minimizes potential for carcinogenicity these dyes. Methods: achieved by oxidative action free radicals furnished Na 2 S O 8 , sodium salt peroxodisulphuric acid (Marshall’s acid). Raman spectroscopy characterizes (ligand) as “Eriochrome Black T (EBT)” a peak 1425 cm -1 . Dismantling its molecular structure peroxodisulphate will lead accompanied collapse peak. Concomitantly, EBT ligands fracture cease chelate, metallic ions released, oxidized higher oxidation state, precipitated insoluble compounds alkaline media. Results: The concentration aqueous phase found substantially reduced. successfully treated solutions mostly clear colourless; Beer-Lambert absorbances range 0.02 ≤ absorbance 0.05. treatment Ni(II), Co(II) Fe(II)-EBT straightforward; Cu(II) Cr(III)-EBT require additional included above range. least responsive treatment. evinced Spectroscopy. Conclusion: A template investigate feasibility metal-complex pioneered recommended.

Azo-dyes and experimental liver tumours.

Introduction Several hundreds of cancer-producing chemical compounds are now known. By far the largest group, which contains all the very potent carcinogens, consists of compounds, mostly polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and simple derivatives of these, which give tumours at the site of application. Malignant tumours, resulting from prolonged contact of the tissues with the chemical compound, m...

Decolourisation of Synthetic Dyes by Agricultural Waste- A Review

Decolourisation of waste water has now become a major problem for the treatment plants in various industries. Many industries use synthetic dyes to colour their products such as textiles, rubber, paper, plastics, leather, cosmetic, food etc. Nearly 10-15% of synthetic textile dyes, used yearly are lost to waste streams and about 20% of these losses enter the environment through effluent from wa...

Decolourisation of synthetic textile dyes by Phlebia tremellosa.

Phlebia tremellosa decolourised eight synthetic textile dyes (200 mg l(-1)) by greater than 96% within 14 days under stationary incubation conditions. High performance liquid chromatography analysis of culture supernatants indicated that Remazol Black B was degraded by the fungus, however, complete mineralisation did not occur as a colourless organic breakdown product accumulated. Laccase activ...

Decolourisation Capabilities of Ligninolytic Enzymes Produced by Marasmius cladophyllus UMAS MS8 on Remazol Brilliant Blue R and Other Azo Dyes

Marasmius cladophyllus was examined for its ability to degradatively decolourise the recalcitrant dye Remazol Brilliant Blue R (RBBR) and screened for the production of ligninolytic enzymes using specific substrates. Monitoring dye decolourisation by the decrease in absorbance ratio of A592/A500 shows that the decolourisation of RBBR dye was associated with the dye degradation. Marasmius cladop...
